And it is a refreshing news that our dear brand new President has at last decided to step out of the new trappings of Rashtrapati Bhavan. We were worried about his taking such a long time to do so and perhaps were thinking if the trappings might have gotten the better of the simple man. At least some of the more simple people must have been wanting him to shut down the entire Rashtrapati Bhavan with the trappings and the trapped and move into a more comfortable flat in Dilli. But then that is too much to ask of a simple man. Anyways, his first adventure out of Dilli and to the land of MKG, or at least what is left of it after the riots and the carnage of Godhra will perhaps make up him mind about moving into a flat afterall, when he returns back to Dilli. If this happens, then it will of course give a very big and a very bad complex to one of our most expensive ex-Presidents who has just reluctantly vacated the Rashtrapati Bhavan and who has, like a spoilt child demanding a candy, has managed to move into a vast 20 bedroom Bungalow with the Rashtrapati type of trappings, all at the cost of the poor tax payers who are practically dried off their resources just like the clothes in a spin drier. And we wonder as to how these simple down to earth people get used to living like Monarchs, Badshahs and Kings is such a short period of time when they move into the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
And everyone has stopped talking about our enterprising Home Minister Lal Khrisna Advani, how he has wiggled his way to the Deputy PM’s chair like a worm, instead of being dragged to Tihar jail. And our goans have started talking about how our enterprising MLA from Aldona has inched his way back into the brainless mass of confused conspirators called Congress and has managed to become the deputy of the CLP which nobody else wanted. I call them brainless mass of confused conspirators because they could find no one better than this chargesheeter who, should’nt have been given the ticket in the first place. But then, who else in the Congress camp is hurting as bad as our enterprising MLA from Aldona, who has practically wiped out his lifetime booty to get elected and who hates Manohar Parrikar’s guts that bad? With him in front, they stand a good chance of smelling the Kodels of power at least, if not to get to sit on them.
And Tamil Nadu’s Industries Minister is right to have patted the back of Goa’s Industries Minister and send special thanks to the people of Goa for giving him the Nylon 6,6 of Dupont. Not that TN is ever much bothered about its environment than the jobs. But some of Goa’s sensitive people feel that Dupont would have been much much safer in Keri rather than the proposed food processing industry , which is supposed to be the most polluting industry of them all. And we goans seem to have been missing the best buses all the time. They say that if Konkan railway had to pass through Panjim, less people would have died on our roads. That the acrimony created by Goa’s opposition to the KR has resulted in the draught of job in KR for goans. And worst still, the upcoming KR’s divisional workshop which is most suitable to be set up in Goa, and which will enhance a lot of jobs for skilled personnel and prospects for ancillary industry will also be gifted away from Goa. Hopefully, our enterprising IIT CM will do the needful to repair hurt egos and convince KR that Goa is the right place for such a set up. And my last few days have been used effectively to check out the EDC- Thappar – Reliance –Dupont angle of Nylon 6,6. And the finger points out to Reliance as a spoilt sport for driving Dupont and Nylon 6,6 from Keri to Tamil Nad On a second thought, I feel that Dupont’s Nylon 6,6 would have been ideal for Zuari Nagar instead of Zuari Agro Chemicals and Meta Strips. And none of them, that is ZACL or META or BINANI or ZIL or IOCL or any other would stand the impeccable record on anti pollution technology of DUPONT. But then, I could be totally wrong.
